What to do when your Tire is Flat?
Getting a Flat Tire is never fun. You are minding your own business, then "Boom" you have a Flat. You may have difficulty Accelerating or the Steering becomes squishy or delayed. You then find a Safe place to pull over and you notice one of your Tires is Flat. The cause can be from Tire Failure, a Puncture, Damaged Valve Stem or Excessive Tire Wear. If you continue Driving on a Flat Tire you will cause Permanent Damage to the Wheel and Tire. Turn on your Emergency Flashers and double check that you are Safe from oncoming Traffic. Check in your owner's Manual on the Procedures to change the Tire. The owner's Manual will also show you the Location of the Spare Tire and Tools. The Spare Tire is not a Permanent replacement for the tire that went Flat. The Spare Tire is a temporary and should be only used to get to the nearest Tire Repair Facility. When you get to the Repair Shop make sure that the Technician Check all the remaining Tires. Your Vehicle's Tires are a Wear item and will need to be checked on a regular basis. Checking your Tire Pressure monthly will help prevent getting Stranded. Having a Trained Mechanic Inspect your vehicle's Steering and Suspension will also help.
